Seeking professional counseling is an important life decision. It means you may already be in a challenging or painful situation, and need help figuring out how to move forward. If you have never been involved with counseling before, asking for help can be intimidating.

When it comes to therapy, you have many options. Sometimes understanding the different licensing of the therapists available in a community can be confusing. Bottom line, it is important you choose the best therapist for you. If you have questions about this, call us.

We invite you to learn more about Smithson Valley Counseling Center on this website, or by contacting us by phone, email or our online message form.

Smithson Valley Counseling Center offers counseling services to individuals, couples and families.

We will bill your insurance for you. We will verify benefits available under your insurance, and if you do not have coverage, we have options. We have a talented team which includes experienced therapists still earning their hours towards full licensure. All of the therapists work on a sliding scale.

We work with a variety of modalities—and work to tailor the therapy we provide to each individual. Your personality, counseling experience, beliefs, background, support system, history and current situation are all taken into consideration. We are trained as systems therapists which means your family, relationship status, history, traditions, past and present are all taken into consideration.

We offer family therapy, premarital & marriage counseling, crisis counseling, EMDR, hypnotherapy, and trauma recovery. We work with eating disorders and women’s issues .We provide Christian counseling for those who request it.

We work with drug or alcoholic dependent family systems, and provide support to the person working to get past their addiction, as well as family members who are dealing with an addicted family member. We also work with veterans and are passionate about supporting those who have served our country with their therapy needs.

Not sure if we can help you with what you are going through? Don't hesitate to ask. We will either assist you directly or refer you to someone who can.
